Behind the visual

EUPHORIA, MIND-EXPANSION & SELF-LOVE

Human beings describe existence and simulate the world by using representations. Sometimes, it feels like we enjoy the representations of life more than life itself.

We observe ourselves. We observe the world. And then—we create. We express. We strive to communicate. One brain to another. We enjoy using our brain in a way that’s different from what it was originally meant for. We’ve mastered survival, and now we aim for further development. How fascinating is that point when natural life meets intelligent design.

In my paintings, I like to explore how the advanced digital era we live in changed us. Like how it expanded the spectrum of our emotions. How do virtual worlds expand our experience of being human. I look at our love for simulations and stimulations. And that sweet, nostalgic feeling for past virtual experiences with older technologies.

From a futuristic state of mind, I bring up questions. Why do our brains crave structure? Why are we so obsessed with structure? Is chaos taking structure means creation of life? What is the phenomena of chaos taking structure? Do we fully belong to this planet or are we somewhat alien? Are we powerful creators—or just chains of amino acids?

In my art, I share my journey through the universe. I attempt to create a special mirror—to reflect this thing called life, existence, from the perception of my human understanding. I aim for my art to be mind-expending. In the sense that everything and all there is, is one life, with one cosmic consciousness. And with this intention, I paint to communicate a divine experience, of blurring boundaries between creature and creator.
